A stone pillar 143cm in height. As a result of the Satsuma invasion of the Ryukyu kingdom in 1609, the Ryukyu royal government fell into poverty, and in 1637 started a per capita tax for the areas of Miyako and Yaeyama (individuals would be taxed once they were as tall as this rock).
