Izena island is situated to the northwest of Okinawa's main island in the East China Sea, and has a perimeter of only 16.7km; the island is abundant with beautiful nature, sacred locations with countless legends, and sites important to the history of the Ryukyu kingdom, not to mention the footprints of many important historical figures.
